The current threats and risks against security additionally underline the necessity for such interconnection because the military culture significantly differs from the civilian culture in the approach to certain security-related issues. The situation in the Republic of Macedonia since the period of gaining independence onwards is similar. This text aims to make a very brief analysis of the preference of the military security option over the civilian option, and, at the same time, of the situation in the Republic of Macedonia related to this issue in the past 20 years.
