The goal of the article is to identify prerequisites of development of rural (green) tourism in the territory of Ukraine by the following directions of analysis: state of the rural districts, size of rural population, number of registered rural (green) manors and proposed routes through manor sites of the rural (green) tourism. The conducted analysis of the state of rural settlements of Ukraine revealed that 641 rural objects (40 settlements and 601 villages) disappeared from the map of Ukraine
