The article focuses on the archaic plots and motifs in the Kalmyk folklore related to the theme of human origin and his ancient life style. In particular, the article analyzes the mythological plot «Kümn-ӓmtn yaһdzh üüdsnӓ tuskar» ("Regarding the origin of the humanity") and publishes the text. The sample of the non-fairytale prose was recorded in 1967 from the resident of Sarpa village of the Yustinstky region of the Kalmyk ASSR Tyurbeev Nuskha Kichikovich (born in 1901) by the research
