Paper presents study on the hydrothermal treatment for hydroxyapatite layer formation on the different biodegradable Mg-substrates. The evaluation of corrosion resistance in Ringer's solution and contact angle measurements in glycerol were performed. Alloys and composites substrates obtained by mechanical alloying and powder metallurgy route are characterized by submicron range microstructure, which is responsible for further surface processing characteristic.
