In this article, based on a cytogenetic study of 62 children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder it was found that an increase in the length of the Y-chromosome is associated with the development of ADHD. It is also one of the factors predicting the likelihood of syndrome formation and used in screening and prenatal diagnosis, with the purpose of early detection of predisposition to the development of the syndrome and the adoption of preventive measures.
