A catalytic method of the chemical modification of isobutylene oligomers and syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene on the C=C bond via the [1+2] cycloaddition of metoxycarbonylcarbene in the presence of Cu(OAc) 2 -2,4-Lut-ZnCl 2 is proposed.
