This paper reports on a fairly simple method being developed for recognizing sentence dependency structures automatically in texts sharing a common style of presentation. The intended application is to employ texts plus structure information in generating a variety of independently meaningful extracts. Some errors are to be expected in the automatic structure recognition, but these may be corrected manually with associated text network editing software and are rendered less serious by a built-in bias in favor of recall over precision.
