Mijo (Misko) Radošević (b. Lokve, 10th October 1884 -d. Stara Gradiška, March (?) 1942) is the author of the novel called "Caricatures" (1908) which, tagether with the works of the better known Janko Polić Kamov and Josip Baričević, represents "Rijeka's" contribution to the Croatian avant-garde literary movements at the beginning of the 20th century. Consequently, the idea of novel guaranted a relatively liberal approach to the semantically still undefined fields in Croatian literature and opened up the possibility of their semantization. The purpose of this paper is to determine the ways of semantic interrelating of irony and grotesque around "Caricatures".
