The article deals with a little know poem by William Sidney Walker written in the wake of the Napoleonic wars as an appeal for just treatment of Poland in the aftermath of the wars. The main character in the poem is the Polish Baroque poet Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewski (Sarbievius, Casimir). The paper is supplemented with the original text and Polish translation.
