Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in Situs Inversus Totalis
The Japanese Journal of Gastroenterological Surgery
A 56-year-old woman with known situs inversus totalis preseneted with leftsided discomfort in the back. Abdominal ultrasonography confirmed the diagnosis of a gallstone, as well as situs inversus with the liver and gallbladder on the left side and the spleen on the right. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed. This paper shows that this technique can be safely and effectively applied in the setting of situs inversus, although attention must be paid to the details of left-right reversal.doi:10.5833/jjgs.29.741 fatcat:6wf7jknetnhnjicfdqcx4ipv7u
