Charged rod-like colloidal suspensions: what can we learn from ab initio simulations?

An ab inirio approach to simulate the interactions and correlations of charged rodlike colloidal panicles is proposed. which combines molecular dynamics for the mesoscopic rods and classid density-functional theory for the microscopic counlerions. Many-lmdy interrod interactions induced by non-linear counterion scrtening are systematically included in this approach.
