Written, visual and auditory media associations follow a broadcasting strategy for the content they produce to be popular with the target audience. more » ... ience, also have negative consequences. This is the starting point of the study. In the study conducted with 131 graduate students in the Istanbul sample, it was tried to measure the psychological effect of tragic news on the target audience. The study was carried out in a qualitative research design and supported by quantitative data. In the research, the data were collected and subjected to content analysis with the structured interview form by making in-depth interviews. As a result of the analysis, it was found that tragic news negatively affected the target audience psychologically.
