Even though the level is different and the pattern used is also different, but the cleansing of the remnants of aristocratic power that is still entrenched is not inevitable to this day. The case of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta is a different matter after getting recognition from the state through the law of privilege. Abstrak Studi ini bermaksud untuk mengungkap strategi negara (pemerintah) dalam mendelegitimasi kekuasaan tradisional di Kabupaten Gowa. Di samping itu, studi ini akan melacak secara historis bagaimana keabsahan kekuasaan dapat diakui secara kultural yang kemudian akan disandingkan dengan aspek legitimasi dari negara. Bagaimana keduanya ketika dipertemukan akan menjadi poin tersendiri untuk dieksplanasi agar dapat membongkar sejauhmana pengaruh Peraturan Daerah tentang Lembaga Adat Daerah (Perda LAD) dapat berpengaruh pada level bawah. Lahirnya Perda LAD di Kabupaten Gowa boleh dikatakan pengulangan sejarah di mana negara menghancurkan penguasa tradisonal untuk tunduk pada kekuasaan negara modern.
