International Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Studies 2015; 3(2): 264-267 Seasonal variations of nutrients in Pulicat Lake, Tamil Nadu, India
Seasonal variation in the distribution of nutrients in the surface waters of Pulicat lake, Tamil Nadu, India was assessed from January 2011 to December 2012. The nutrients investigated were nitrate, nitrite, free ammonia, phosphate, sulphate and silica. Data revealed that the amount of nitrate was high during pre monsoon and low during monsoon during the study period.
