Direct Determination of Trace Elements in Biological Materials by Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry with a Tungsten Boat Furnace

Sample cuvette -tungsten boat furnace (TBF) -inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry was investigated for the direct determination of trace amounts of cadmium and lead in biological materials. To each small sample cuvette made by tungsten, the mixture of a ground biological sample and powdered dlammonium hydrogenphosphate was accurately weighed. Tetramethylammonium hydroxide solution was injected into it. Then, the cuvette temperature was maintained at a wet-digestion
more » ... igestion temperature to decompose the solid sample. After the on-furnace digestion was completed, the temperature was succeedingly elevated up to generate the analyte vapor to introduce into the plasma.
