Erotic Life as a New Frontier in HCI

In this paper we discuss how information technology impacts erotic life. This has been a neglected issue in most of the literature, even the literature on IT in the home. We argue that current IT, in particular in the home, tends to marginalize erotic aspects of life, through developing domestic technology, without considering how it impacts conditions for erotic life in the home. We suggest the need for a counter discourse in HCI, and we outline a number of theoretical and empirical
