Cicero' s Letters place us at the very heart of political and social life in Rome during the Republican era. These extant letters written not only by Cicero, but also by many prominent figures in the society. So the style of the writer must have some politeness. In turn, the researcher tries through this paper, to approach the concept of politeness, and sudy its types, components, and the theories that have been dealt through the perspective of social linguistics.
