RESUMEN. Se comunica el primer registro de Diretmichthys parini (Familia Diretmidae), sobre la base de un ejemplar capturado en aguas sobre un monte submarino ubicado entre el archipiélago de Juan Fernández y Valparaíso. Se trata del segundo registro de esta especie en el Pacífico suroriental y es el más austral en esta zona. Se proporcionan datos morfométricos del espécimen. ABSTRACT.
