Two DNA analysis techniques were applied to study Chlamydotis undulata from all six hypothesized population centers of macqueenii subspecies, including the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, the Syrian Desert, Iran, the Turanian Plain, Central Asia and the Mongolian Plateau. The undulata subspecies were also included for comparison. Results using the Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique showed a clear difference between undulata and macqueenii.
