This paper describes the process used to develop and implement an assessment plan from the ground up for a new Master of Information Systems program. The mapping of learning goals to objectives to specific courses is illustrated with direct and indirect measures. The program was first offered January 2008, and the second cohort of completed January, 2010. ... mprovement process in the program. The experience of developing and assessing a new program led to significant improvements in the assessment process itself. The initial cumbersome data collection led to the development of an online system for faculty reporting of results and improvements. Challenges of administering and assessing a blended program of weekend residencies and online course delivery are discussed.
