The fatigue crack growth behavior near threshold region in a Type 304 stainless steel and its welded joints (GMAW and EBW) was investigated. The behavior in an SM50A steel and its welded joint (GM-AW) was also investigated to compare the difference of threshold behavior between austenitic steel and normal pearlite-ferrite steel.
