Borosilicate based glasses are generally accepted as proper high-level radioactive wastes isolating media, as they are satisfying the following major requirements: the composition can be widely modified, ease in sample preparation, processing and the encapsulation cost are acceptable and economical. We have prepared a new borosilicate glass series containing 30wt% UO 3 . For the study of the short-and intermediate range order we have performed neutron-and X-ray diffraction measurements. Neutron
