Android is a Linux-based, open-source operating system(OS) designed to use on cell phones, e-readers, tablet PCs, and other mobile devices, capable of being used as an alternative for computers having bigger form factors. Android provides a very cheap and easy platform to be the brain for controlling a robot, with arduino being an interface to connect to the H/W and controlling it.
