A FE analysis model for predicting the spot weld fracture is developed. Fracture strains are derived by FE analyses and tension tests using the small tensile specimens of smooth or notched shapes from each part of the weld zone. And, Fracture strains are applied to fracture criterion of spot weld together with the stress triaxiality σ m /σ (σ m : Hydrostatic Stress, σ: Equivalent stress). This FE analysis model is applied to fracture prediction of spot welded joints under the various loads.
