Epigastric pain is one of the commonest complaints that primary care physicians and gastroenterologists encounter. With the lack of any alarm symptoms, the treatment is usually proton pump inhibitors which are mostly successful secondary to the prevalence of gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
