Prostate cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the male population. The Gleason-Score is of critical importance for long-term survival chances. Adipocytokines such as leptin appear to exert a biochemical effect on growth rates of prostate cancer cells and therefore on the biology of tumor cells. This paper examines the relationship of the two adipocytokines leptin and adiponectin with the Gleason-Score after RPE to determine effect size and thus the feasibility of using them as

We used conventional ELISA to determine concentration of the adipocytokines. The statistical evaluation was conducted using GraphPad Prism 7. There was no significant difference between the three different Gleason-groups. There was also no difference between adipocytokines and pathological tumor expansion. Overweight and a Gleason-Score ≥ 7 did not show a quantitative relationship.
