... subaltern healing practice (Tribal people) and its existing strength and weakness of system. The study has used the published work related to indigenous medicine of tribal people and focus on qualitative methodology mainly micro-sociological approach, specifically phenomenological method for critical interpretation cum analysis. Findings of the study shows that the medicine and health has deeply embedded in tribal society, proving the significance of knowledge related to health and medicine. It suggested that discourse of indigenous healing system needs to be engaged critical ramification of its independent status rather merge with dominant medical system.
