This paper presents an overview of the essence of web space which may contain information required to identify and authenticate users on the Internet in order to prevent attempts at malicious acts. Essences with a common content or the same detection method are structured into groups. The greatest attention is paid to one of these groups of entities: «the browser fingerprint» group.
