Three points have become clear. First, the scale merit has worked well on sericulture farming more than on rice farming, dairy farming and hog raising. Second, one of the most important factors that works on the scale merit in sericulture farming is better use of buildings utilized in the farming, which results from silkworms raising with many times a year. Moreover, it is also important to pare down labor cost which occupies large share of the total production cost. Third, the most important factor that has reduced the average scale of sericulture farming in recent years is low profitability.
