Time-analizing image converters PV-001 and PV-OOZR, developed by t h e All-Union S c i e n t i f i c Research I n s t i t u t e of Optical-Physical Measurements together with t h e Physical I n s t i t u t e of t h e Soviet Academy of Sciences, make it possible t o record t h e pulse s i g n a l s of radiation i n v i s i b l e and near-infrared region a s well as i n s o f t X-ray one. The image converter PV-001 has a low resistance oxygen-silver-cesium photocathode with spectral s e n s i t i v i t y of 300 uA/W a t the wavelength 1,06 urn. A n electronic shutter i s arranged behind the anode i n t h e foxm of two paira; of deflection p l a t e s (shutter and compensating ones), the shutt e r diaphragm is placed between them ( t h e cutoff voltage of an electron beam i s 400 V ). Then it i s followed by the wideband deflection system f o r image sweep on t h e screen. The s p a t i a l resolution of %he converter i s not l e s s than 35 6 ' . The image converter PV-002 R has a gold photocathode on a mica substrate, sens i t i v e over the s o f t X-ray region. Two mut u a l l y perpendicular deflection systems, each of them i s analogous t o t h e deflection system of t h e image converter PV-901, We arranged behind t h e anode. The calculation of t h e electron-optic a l systems of PV-001 and PV-002R i s carr i e d out; with consideration f o r a l l known factors, which r e s t r i c t a l i m i t i n g time resolution, i f t h e subpicoseconddtime resolution i s ensured i n t h e PV-001 convert e r and t h e picosecond time resolution ensured i n t h e PV-002R converter. The e l e c t r o s t a t i c converter PMU-I with a microchannel plate (MIIKP) i s designed f o r the contact amplification of t h e image brightness a t t h e output of the time-analyzing converters. The diameters of the operating area of t h e photocathode .and anode a r e equal t o 40 mm, the electron-optical amplification i s I, t h e l i m i t i n g s p a t i a l resolution i s 20 m-', t h e conversion coefficient a t t h e wavelength 0,45 urn i s not l e s s than IO~W/W. One of t h e above mentioned time-analyzing converters connected with the PNN-I brightness amplifier by fiber-optical disks Article published online by EDP Sciences and available at http://dx.
