An optimistic fair exchange protocol and its security in the universal composability framework

Fair exchange protocols allow two parties to either each party gets the other's item or neither party does, and this property is essential in e-commerce. In this paper, we define the ideal functionality of the fair exchange protocol in the universal composability framework, and present an optimistic fair exchange protocol that is secure in this framework.
