Pot experiments were conducted to study the allelopathic effect of Datura stramonium residue on germination and growth characters of purslane (Portulaca oleracea L). Experiments were set as completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Results indicated that the residue concentration affect germination negatively. The lower level of Datura residue induced a stimulatory effect on plant height, leaf area, shoot and root, fresh and dry weight of purslane. The higher
