Computation of the temperature distribution in cylindrical high-pressure furnaces

The steady-state temperature distribution in typical cylindrical high-pressure furnaces has been computed from analytic solutions for various boundary conditions. Either the temperature variation along the cylindrical heater or the power dissipation per unit length is prescribed. The results are tabulated and discussed as an aid in the design of high-pressure furnaces and in the estimation of temperature gradients.
