This paper focuses on production costs management in the planning stage of a complex production process. In the case of production companies supporting their production process by external entities, it is important to consider cooperation in terms of service costs. It is also important that the subcontractor's production plans are included in the operational production schedule. The method of using the FlexSim software to optimize production costs in a fruit processing plant has been presented.
more » ... The basic stages of creating a simulation model for an exemplary production process supported by external companies are discussed. The obtained results show the effect of selected simulation scenarios on the level of production costs.
