The Effects of Religion on Translating Humor from English into Persian through Figurative Language

The present study investigated the integral role of religion and culture in translation of humor from English Christian short stories into Persian. The main focus was to discover how figurative languages could be transferred from source text into target text. Four humorous Christian short stories were given to ten M.A. Persian students of Translation Studies to observe whether they could transfer the whole humorous concepts.
