Whole Lung Lavage under general anesthesia and lung separation with a double lumen tube has been considered the definitive therapy for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis for a long time. Whole Lung Lavage is related with complications like tube displacement and inundation during the filling and the drainage phases of the lavage.
