C20H27N3O, monoclinic, P\2\lc\ (no. 14), a = 8.460(2) Â, b = 12.032(2) Â, c = 18.279(4) λ, β = 90.45(3)°, V = 1860.6 Λ 3 , Ζ = 4, Rgt(F) = 0.056, wR^F 2 ) = 0.142, T= 173 Κ. Source of material The title compound was obtained from 2,3-dihydro-l,3-diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene [1] and benzoylacetonitrile in 91 % yield as red crystals, m.p. 108 -110 and IR data are available in the CEF.
