Information Collection and Transmission during Ocean Exploration—Taking James Cook's Three Great Voyages as an Example

The Great Ocean Exploration during the British colonial period collected and integrated a lot of unknown information in the world, which greatly promoted the process of the Great Geographical Discovery. By studying Captain James Cook's overseas voyages, this paper attempts to analyze the methods of information collection and transmission during exploration. Secondly, the paper organizes and speculates on the methods of information gathering by explorers, as well as how they transform and transmit information. Ultimately, this information is transformed into usable knowledge, which provides a reserve for the construction of a unified world information network.
