The semantic Web entails the standardization of representation mechanisms so that the knowledge contained in a Web document can be retrieved and processed on a semantic level. RDF seems to be the emerging encoding scheme for that purpose. However, there are many different sorts of documents on the Web that do not use RDF as their primary coding scheme. It is expected that many one-to-one mappings between pairs of document representation formalisms will eventually arise. This would create a
