The geoemydid turtles of the Eocoene Messel Pit Quarry of Hesse, Germany, are part of a rich Western European fossil record of testudinoids. Originally referred to as "Ocadia" kehreri and "Ocadia" messeliana, their systematic relationships remain unclear.
