In recent years, Adapted Sports has been getting a lot of attention and gaining popularity. Therefore, we have been conducting research on the theme of the development and diffusion of baseball-type wheelchair sports. The purpose of this study was to make the rulebook and classifi cation system for wheelchair softball, and to verify its eff ectiveness. The rulebook was to specify the rules of Slow-pitch Softball. This rulebook worked very well in Japan National Wheelchair Softball Tournament.

... e classifi cation system for the National Wheelchair Softball Association was translated into Japanese language in order to adapt to the Japan National Wheelchair Softball Tournament. It was also included for able-bodied players. After the implementation of the classifi cation system, the number of able-bodied players and disabled players increased. Thus, it is assumed that the classification system had a good influence on competitions. We would like to consider this in further research.
