Terai region, a granary of Nepal, is prone to flooding and inundation. Kandra River is a flashy river having very low flows during the dry periods. But, upon heavy rainfall, floods develop quickly with little warning, resulting in disastrous consequences for communities. The hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling with 24h accumulated (1day) rainfall and mean daily discharge would not replicate the real scenario.
