O objetivo geral do presente trabalho é estudar a construção do personagem Rorschach, da obra Watchmen, de Alan Moore e Dave Gibbons, na perspectiva da teoria da literatura e da psicanálise, ciência da qual os autores utilizaram pressupostos para criar o personagem. The early twentieth century, when the rise of its popularity and circulation, until the mid-70s, were regarded purely as a product marketing. However, authors interested to attract the attention of readers of literature, began publishing graphic narratives which have characteristics closer to the literary works than the conventional format of comics: the so-called graphic novels. In the creative process of these works, composed in a more mature and detailed way, the authors make use of other sciences to construe the narrative and the characters. The main objective of this work is to study the construction of the character Rorschach, from the work Watchmen, by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, in the view of Literary Theory and Psychoanalysis, science used by the authors in to create the character. The specific goal is, through the study of a character from a graphic narrative in the view of theory of literature and psychoanalysis, broaden the scope of literary studies for graphic novels.
