This study deals with the optimal control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Concerns about the minimum energy consumption of the UAV are still in the focus of attention of many researchers. The optimal control based on the cost function minimization of the closed loop automatic flight control systems of the UAV is one of the techniques effectively supporting solution of the gain selection of UAV autopilots.
