The internationalization of curriculums is considered as one of the predominant factors for the improvement of the university training of future engineers. However, lack of a conceptual and instrumental contextualized framework hinders the inclusion of the dimension in international curriculum. more » ... cess of developing a diagnostic tool for the internationalization of curriculums of engineering programs is described. The results of the pilot application of this instrument in a degree in Agricultural Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from the Technological Institute of Costa Rica are also discussed. The article can be useful for teachers, principals, program coordinators, advisers and members of curriculum committees, among others involved in teaching, curriculum development and management of university careers.
