In an attempt to investigate the prognosis in malignant tumors of the kidney, follow-up studies in 29 cases of hypernephroma and 11 cases of carcinoma of the renal pelvis were made over a period ranging from 3 to 9 years, and the following results were obtained. 1) The 3-year and 5-year survivals of hypernephroma treated by nephrectomy averaged 39% (9/23) and 30% (4/13), respectively, while the corresponding values for patients with pelvic tumor were 33% (3/9) and 33% (2/6). 2) In either of
