The method obeys Beer's law in the range 0-1.5 μg ZrIv ml-1 with a molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity value of 2.32 x 104 L mol-1 cm-1 and 0.0039 μg ZrIv cm-2 respectively. It is also free from the interference of a large number of cations and anions. Utilizing the proposed procedure, the analysis of various synthetic samples und reverberatory flue dust has been carried out to a greater degree of accuracy.
