Stars in the field of NGC 6281, including the bright star HD 153919, have been observed photoelectrically in the UBV system. A distance of 560 ± 30 parsecs, a mean reddening of Fß_y = 0 1,1 15 ± 0.02, and an estimated age of 10 8 years have been derived for cluster members. Possible light variations of the star HD 153919, recently identified as an X-ray source are noted.
