大学新入生の入学時における情報活用能力およびICT利用環境に関する現状と一考察

Since fiscal 2003," Information Studies"has been a compulsory subject in high school.However,it has been found that there are large variations in the ability of college students who have completed this course to utilize information.Much research into this situation has been conducted.Tatsumi et.al.investigated this problem on a large scale and concluded that university students' ability to utilize ICT devices,which is necessary in their daily lives,was insufficient.Motivated by their study, we
more » ... onducted a similar research and analysis of freshmen at the Japan Women' s College of Physical Education. The analysis introduces a variable to evaluate information utilization ability, in order to examine the association between that ability and the utilization of ICT devices. In particular, we evaluate the relation between students'ability to utilize information and their ownership of a PC. The results clarify the characteristics of the freshmen at the College. We also provide a discussion of the research method.
