The design of the totally active scintillator detector

In the project of Advanced European Infrastructures for Detectors at Accelerators (AIDA), the Institute of Nuclear Research designed and tested the Totally Active Scintillator Detector (TASD). This paper reports the results of design of TASD prototype and outlines requirements for a test beam at CERN to test these, tentatively planned on the H8 beamline in the North Area, which is equipped with a large aperture magnet.
